 Pages turn angrily

The truth doesn't hurt
once you're ready for it

But you have to survive
years of brutality first
before you know
when the moment
scoffing at the fearful falls
upon you

When you can
walk upright though scourges
scatter on your back

When you can
fall and even die
and come back and rise up again

Only then, will the waking
nightmares seem like
light rainfalls

And the hard times
be winds of change

Then you can close that book,
that proverbial trigger warning

And carry on
about your day
